About the Artist

Durango, CO Artist

Rosemary Juskevich - Biography Rosemary's art career germinated for many decades while life followed alternate paths. A move to Durango, Colorado in 2004 nourished both her spirit and her art.
As a child she lived in California and every summer traveled by car (pre-interstates) to Chicago, Illinois.  The mountains, rivers, ranches and wide open spaces of the American West are imprinted in her memory, heart and soul.
She lived on the east coast for 34 years raising her four children and working in her chosen field of physical therapy.  Her formal training in art began at Tidewater Community College in Virginia Beach, Virginia and at Virginia Weslyan College.  She earned a Master's of Art Therapy from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1994. She currently paints with soft pastels but has explored watercolor, oil, acrylic and collage.
The natural landscape of Durango and the surrounding Southwest are the inspiration for her heartfelt representational paintings.  Mesas, mountain vistas, chamisa hillsides, rocky rivers and Durango landmarks are included in her portfolio.
Her work has been accepted in juried shows at the Durango Art Center as well as other venues in and around Durango.
